The Jersey Girls

Michelangelo is quoted as saying: " I am still learning"...and so - here is the result of too many  hours spent creating at temperatures of 45 degrees and below...don't blame me...it's "the weather".  (by the by - Hayward had 2 dairy businesses, not to mention the poultry industry) paving it's way through local history, so ...stay tuned for panel #10!

...and before you ask - their names, from L to R are Molly, Violet and Bluebelle

Week #4 burrrrrrrr

Here are the finishing touches on 7 and 8.Numbers 9 and 10 are under construction and too goofy for you to see, at this point.  Rains have been a severe delay, but Tony has been so very kind to seal everything up to this point.

Keep thinking Sun.

Week #3 - "I fought the Wall and the Wall won..." sigh

Greetings Mural Enthusiasts!

To be brief, the impending rains and a somewhat complex design on my part, have delayed the completion of the next two panels.  (5 more hours and Victory could have been mine)  Suffice it to say that if these last 2 panels survive the rain, (i.e. if the work I did today has "cured" sufficiently) and the next batch o' taggers, you'll see what I affectionately call "the flying fruit" (and an additional 20 crows) "morph" into a small herd of Dairy Cows (and chickens)...what a cliff-hanger, eh?

As always, my deepest thanks for your continued support and encouragement.

Jean

Week 2

Dear friends-

What a week.  The taggers came late Monday night and hit the three panels prior to panel #1 of the project.  They tagged the electrical box in front of #1 and then...blessedly, they stopped.  I am grateful to say the VERY least-

Attached then, are the "latest" 4 panels....#'s 3,4,5 & 6.  We're "on schedule" and graced by the folks who traverse this thoroughfare...nice people and a pleasure in the meeting.  My brushes are hurting (they talk to me now....should I be concerned?)

Again, my heart-felt thanks for your thoughts and continued support.  It IS what fuels us - truly.
a hug in thought to all,
Jean

p.s. Thus far, we've covered 1,080 sq. ft...only 8,680 sq. ft. to go!

Week #1

Nov 7th

Dear "Support Group"

Here are the results of week one....about 2 hours shy of "plan" (completed-square-footage-wise) but I do believe we've done well - almost 480 sq. ft. in 4 days).  Please note the efforts of "my boys"....left to right, Frank & Tony (with the City of Hayward) and Matt...my second self...wouldn't be this far along without them-

Obviously, the grand good energy you're sending is serving us remarkably well!
THANK YOU!
Jean

Mural Project

Looks like I may be headed for browner, rockier and  MUCH larger canvases soon my friends.  Hope to have a contract by the end of the week.
9,760 sq. ft.  what the hell was I thinking?

see you April 1st! (no kidding, that's the finish date - spooky though it may be)
